After a busy week of assisting with FarmTastic, it's time to celebrate Pike County's accomplishments at the State Fair! I'm so proud of the youth and the effort they showed from creating exhibits of art, canning, baking, sewing, floral design and cookie decorating, to public speaking, LEGO builds, Poultry Chain, and Dairy Goat shows. It was a busy fair week, but very productive. Here's a look at some of the youth and their efforts.

Congratulations to the Pike County Poultry Chain exhibitors Alexis and Alaina! Alexis was first place in the meat breed senior division and Alaina was second place in the laying breed division at the State Fair! We're so proud of the hard work these girls put into their birds and project books!

Come learn a different and easy art form: August 20 2:00-4:00! There is a $5 registration fee (check only) to cover materials. This is fun and relaxing to do, and you learn to work with a pattern similar to a quilt without darning a needle.

"Kinusaiga is a contemporary Japanese art form that combines elements of traditional textile techniques with modern materials and methods. It involves creating intricate fabric collages by pressing fabric scraps into pre-cut grooves on a foam board, resulting in textured, layered artworks without the need for sewing. This technique offers a tactile and visually rich alternative to conventional quilting or embroidery." https://www.hudsonvalleyatelier.com/japanese-sutajio/
