Did Sherrod Brown vote to allow minors to have gender reassignment surgery? No. Did he vote for men to compete in women's sports? No. More lies.
Soren Aldaco is a 23-year-old detransitioner featured in a political ad attacking former U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown. She recounts her own medical experiences and alleges that Sherrod Brown supports or refuses to oppose sex-change surgeries for minors.
Brown never endorsed Aldaco or her medical history. Brown's remarks referenced in the campaign statements were part of an interview where he argued that medical choices should remain between families and doctors rather than being dictated by politicians. Reports also note that Aldaco's medical care occurred in Texas, not Ohio
I do not understand why we allow these lies in the name of "free speech." It should be illegal. It's exhausting looking into every claim on each side.
Soren Aldaco is a Texan. Never an Ohioan. She did not have gender reassignment surgery. She did have a mastectomy once she became an adult. Not a minor, not in Ohio. SIGH.
Trans people are 1-2% of the population. Of those folks, a small percent ever have gender reassignment surgery, and not as minors. Of those few, a small percent detransition.
Soren Aldaco is suing doctors now, in Texas, where this all took place, and the courts will hopefully work this out. Here's what you need to know:
It's got nothing to do with Sherrod Brown.
It's got nothing to do with Ohio.
