This week on “Catch the Pace,” Dr. Pace highlights the conclusion of the HCS Summer Leadership Conference centered around the theme “Destination Henry” and the district’s continued commitment to becoming a premier destination school district. Leaders from across Henry County Schools spent two days focused on strengthening student instruction, supporting employees, building community, and developing future leaders.
Summer learning is also in full swing across HCS, with students participating in programs such as Early Kindergarten, Summer Learning for grades 3–8, STEM Camp, grade repair, credit recovery, and summer school opportunities. Families are also encouraged to take advantage of summer learning resources available online and continue building strong reading habits throughout the break.
Dr. Pace is also joined by Dutchtown High School rising junior Lola Stanley, winner of the Henry County FLEX Competition and third-place finisher at the state level for her business, Dough Beauty. Her success is another example of the bright futures being built every day across Henry County Schools.

All 10 traditional HCS high schools were recently recognized as AP Honor Schools in at least one category by State Supt. Richard Woods. Of the 20 largest school districts in Georgia, only HCS had all traditional high schools meet the criteria for AP Access and Support Schools, based on exam performance across student groups. We are of our high school students and the teachers, staff, families, and community members who contributed to these exceptional outcomes!
