We all have heard of Cranberry sauce for a Thanksgiving dinner, but have you heard of a cranberry salsa?

Want to pick up a skill to impress the family while making delicious food?

Come to the Food Preservation Workshop on November 10, 2026.
From 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM.

Registration is $20 for the materials (at the end of the workshop, you can take them home.)

Lunch and Learn – Rain Gardens 🌱🌧

October 13, 2026, 12:00pm to 1:00pm

No Charge and No Registration Required

In our suburban environment, many surfaces such as asphalt, concrete, roofs, and other places are impervious to water. It runs off the site during rain events and can lead to flooding. Rain gardening is a creative way of slowing the stormwater using a multitude of plants that allow the ground to soak in the water. The presenter is Mr. Martin Wunderly, UGA Extension Northeast District Water Agent - Oconee County.

Henry County 4-H is once again selling sweet potatoes to raise funds for our S.A.F.E. Shooting Sports teams! 🍠

Available sizes are: 4 lb bags for $6, 10 lb bags for $15, or 40 lb boxes for $40. These sweet potatoes are grown right here in Georgia, and will be available for pickup in mid-November. Just in time for the holiday season! 🍁

We are accepting orders NOW and will continue until October 30th. To place your order, stop by the Henry County Extension Office, located at 97 Lake Dow Rd, or give us a call at 770-288-8421.

Henry County Master Gardeners are happy to award Girls First Community Garden the 2026 Community Projects Grant! 🌸 The project increases access to fresh produce, provides hands-on gardening education, and strengthens community connections while promoting health, sustainability, and environmental stewardship through collaborative partnerships and volunteer engagement.
