Henry County Fire Dept Explorer Post 190

The Henry County Fire Department will start accepting applications on June 5th for Firefighter Recruit. How does the application process work?

The first step is to submit an application online. Go to www.governmentjobs.com/careers/henryga . Select Firefighter Recruit and fill out an application from there.
The second step is the written test. You will receive an email from our HR team regarding signing up for the written exam.
There is a practice test available for purchase. The link is listed below.
After you pass the written test, the third step is the Physical Agility Test. You will be given the option of several days and evenings for practice prior to the actual test. On test day, you will have to complete the Physical Agility Test in under 7 minutes.

When you successfully complete the Physical Agility Test, the final step with the Henry County Fire Department is the interview.
If you successfully complete the hiring process, you will undergo a physical as well as a psychological exam. We will also run a local and national background check as well.
When the hiring process is complete, you will be given a start date. You will attend Fire and AEMT Academy for 44 weeks and will be paid while you go through the academy.

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of a brother. Firefighter/EMT John "Kevin" Cash passed away this morning while working his part-time job with Roswell Fire Dept. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, daughter, and the rest of his family, as well as his Roswell FD brothers and sisters. Kevin has been a dedicated member of McDonough Fire since 2001 and will be sorely missed.
