Collin County is seeking an experienced professional to help oversee and inspect utility and roadway construction projects to ensure compliance with County standards and specifications.

Minimum Qualifications: • High school diploma or GED
• 5 years of experience in road or drainage structure construction/repair
• 1 year of construction inspection experience
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documents
• Valid Texas driver's license

Key Responsibilities: • Inspect roadway and utility construction projects • Review contractor plans and project progress • Coordinate with contractors, utility companies, and County staff • Prepare reports and maintain project records • Ensure compliance with County construction requirements

Well, the weatherman said the rain was coming... and for once, it didn’t waste any time showing up. 🌧️

The rain has started across parts of Collin County, and conditions can change quickly as we move through this weather.

On a serious note, heavy rainfall can cause water to rise over roadways faster than you might expect. If you’re out and about, slow down, give yourself some extra time, and never attempt to drive through a flooded roadway. If you can’t tell how deep it is, don’t test it.

Please keep an eye on the Collin County Public Works page, which we’ll share below. They’ll be posting updates regarding road closures as conditions develop.
