On this last Family Day of the school year, graduating Seniors walked the halls in their caps and gowns to be greeting by students, faculty, and families in celebration of this accomplishment. Campus family groups also read and reflected on We Are the Builders! by Deepa Iyer. Seniors shared this video sharing their plans for the future, their advice, and what role they embody from this book.

We wanted to make you aware that at 8:45AM today, the campus lock down system was incidentally triggered. Per procedure, all faculty and students followed the Standard Response Protocols (SRP) for a secure lockdown, and any students outside were quickly ushered into the building or designated safe surrounding locations in accordance with procedures. The secure lockdown ended at approximately 9:06AM after the McKinney Police Department arrived to check and clear all location. Our SRO gave the all clear without any harm or incident on campus, and normal school operations continued, including IB testing and PYP Field Day.
We are thankful for the swift action of our School Resource Officer, the McKinney Police Department and Faculty in ensuring the immediate safety of our students across campus. Our students also did a fantastic job following practiced procedures and following directions. These actions demonstrate the respect of school safety measures our students share, and the responsibility our faculty takes to protect our school community in all situations.
