Investing in leadership. Strengthening our department. Serving our community.
Last week our officers came together for our annual Officer Development Meeting. It's a chance for our leaders to share knowledge, build relationships, and talk through the real challenges of leading in today's fire service.
This year we focused on three things:
- Mental health and wellness. Taking care of our firefighters and making sure our officers know how to spot when someone's struggling and how to take care of their crews.
- Technical rescue. Sharpening our understanding of specialized rescue operations and the resources we have for complex emergencies.
- Leadership. Better communication, real accountability, and living our department values.
Why should our community care? Strong leadership means better service. When we invest in our officers, we're investing in firefighter safety, better emergency response, and the quality of service our residents expect and deserve.
This goes beyond the fire station. It's about being ready to respond, lead, and serve when our community needs us.
