🧡🖤 Rest easy, SAR brother. We’ll take it from here.

It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to Colin Lamb, a longtime former member of our team, who passed away Saturday evening.

Colin, thank you for the time, dedication, and service you gave to Search and Rescue. Once you’re part of this family, you’re always part of this family. Your time with us will not be forgotten, and your impact on this team will always be remembered.

Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers. 🧡🖤

💙 Our thoughts and prayers are with Bend Elementary School, the students, staff, families, and everyone affected by this heartbreaking shooting. No family should ever have to experience this kind of fear and pain. We stand with the Bend community during this difficult time and are holding everyone impacted close to our hearts. Please keep these families and the entire school community in your thoughts and prayers. 💙🙏

🚨 SARX TRAINING DAY! 🚨

Today, our Search and Rescue team is putting in the work! 📍🧭📻 SARX gives us the opportunity to train together, sharpen our skills, learn from one another, and prepare for whatever mission comes our way.

The more we train, the more prepared we are to answer the call when our community needs us most. Every hour of training makes a difference.

A huge thank you to the manager at Domino’s in McMinnville for generously donating lunch to our team! 🍕We truly appreciate your kindness, generosity, and continued support of our team and the work we do for our community.

🧭 Back to the Basics! 🗺️

Today our Search & Rescue team went back to the fundamentals with map and compass training! Even with all the technology available today, knowing how to read a map, use a compass, and navigate the terrain is an essential skill in the field.

We’re always learning, practicing, and sharpening our skills so we’re ready when our community needs us.

🍂 Fall Safety Reminder from YCSAR 🍂

As the days get shorter and the sun goes down earlier, make sure you’re prepared when heading out to hike, hunt, or enjoy the outdoors. 🥾🦌

Bring a flashlight, extra layers, food and water, and let someone know where you’re going and when you plan to return. Be prepared, stay aware, and know your limits.

From all of us at Yamhill County Search & Rescue — stay safe out there! 🧡🚨
