Republicans must turn out to vote!
Today Democrats are claiming SB 1507 delivers “job growth” and “relief for working families.”
Misleading facts and half truths are what get me riled up. Here’s what they aren’t telling you.
The bill only works because democratic lawmakers first prevented Oregonians from receiving hundreds of millions of dollars in federal tax relief.
The state kept approximately $311 million that otherwise would have remained with taxpayers, consumers, investors, and job creators.
Then Democrat Salem politicians turned around and announced they were “investing” that same money.
If government takes $311 million out of the private economy and then spends it itself, that’s not creating $311 million in new economic activity.
It’s moving money from taxpayers to government and calling it an investment.
You can support that policy choice or oppose it, but Oregonians deserve an honest description of what happened. 😤
