What belongs in an Archive? You might imagine old photographs, handwritten letters, and dusty documents.

And yes, we love those things! But archives can contain so much more.

Our collections include materials such as photographs, letters and correspondence, yearbooks and publications, artwork, business records, civic and organizational records, various documents, programs, advertisements, and more!

Each item can tell us something about the people, places, organizations, and everyday life of our community.

During our fall History Harvest, we’re collecting materials that help tell your community’s story. We invite you to contribute materials that document daily life here in Peters Township. You never know what might become an important piece of local history!

What does an archivist collect? More than you might think!

This fall, our library is actively collecting materials that help tell the story of our community through our fall History Harvest.

We’re looking for photographs, letters, yearbooks, documents, illustrations, business records, civic and organizational records, and so much more.

Why? Because history isn’t just something that happened a hundred years ago. History is happening all the time.

The things created, saved, used, and shared by people in our community today may one day help future generations understand what life was like here.

Have something that tells a piece of our community’s story? Consider donating it to the archives during our fall History Harvest!
