Press Release - Sheriff’s Office Receives Grant for Automated External Defibrillators

Sheriff Davidson would like to announce that the Telfair County Sheriff’s Office has been awarded the “First Responders” grant from the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council of Georgia for the purchase of eight Automated External Defibrillators (AED’s). The AED’s will be placed in patrol vehicles, and deputies will be trained on the proper use of the equipment in conjunction with CPR and first aid training.

States Sheriff Davidson, “I am grateful that we were able to obtain this much needed equipment that can aid our deputies in providing advanced care in emergency medical situations. Seconds can count, and often times our deputies are the first to arrive on an accident scene or other medical emergency. This is yet another valuable tool we can use to render aid during these often times life and death situations. I would like to thank Chief Deputy Scott Hooks and Logistics and Accreditation Manager Macy Deen for their efforts in applying for the grant and obtaining the much needed AED units.”
