Located 8 miles south and 5 miles west of the city of Meade on K-23

Meade State Park was originally carved out of the Turkey Track Ranch in 1927. The park rests in the high plains of southwest Kansas, just west of the Red Hills. Meade Lake has 80 acres of water and 440 surrounding acres of campsites and wildlife area. Fishing is allowed in the lake year-round with motorized boating restricted to fishing only and no wake speed. Bluegill, channel cat, and largemouth bass are plentiful and provide excellent opportunities for the angler. For nature lovers who like to identify various different trees, grasses, flowers and birds, a nature trail offers birding, biking, and hiking opportunities. The 360-acre wildlife area offers good opportunities for dove and quail hunters. Deer, turkey, rabbit, and some waterfowl also inhabit the area and offer hunters an occasional mixed bag. Meade State Park offers guests a Visitor Center that can host a wide variety of events. Information can be obtained at the park office. The Meade Fish Hatchery is located west of Meade Lake. Tours are available by appointment by calling 620-873-2701. The best times to see fish are April through June.

They are AT IT AGAIN! (They are so excited for 🎃Halloween in the Park🎃 on Oct. 10 at 7 PM!)

Somehow, the park 🦝 raccoons🦝 learned today was October 1st and they immediately began their regularly scheduled shenanigans. Once again, we caught them red-handed trying to turn the North Shower facility into an illegally-permitted concession vendor.

They can't help themselves... camping and visitation have been a little slow now that 🍁FALL🍂 has arrived! Fall weather is STILL great camping weather, so come out and visit us this weekend! The more people in the park, the less likely the raccoons are to engage is shady business tactics.
