The Medford Township Police Department hopes everyone enjoyed a fun and safe Halloween yesterday!

Sgt. Matson had a great time stopping to say hello to some of our youngest residents while out on patrol! Seeing all the creative costumes, smiling faces, and excitement throughout town is always one of our favorite parts of Halloween!

Thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s Halloween a safe and enjoyable one throughout Medford!

Be Alert: Drivers, slow down and watch for trick-or-treaters, especially in residential neighborhoods.

Be Visible: Wear bright costumes or reflective accessories to help drivers see you.

Pay Attention: Use sidewalks and crosswalks, look both ways, and stay aware of your surroundings.

Stay Together: Young children should always be accompanied by a responsible adult.

The Medford Township Police Department is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Retired Officer John Burger.

Officer Burger began his career with the Medford Township Police Department prior to working for both Medford Lakes and Haddonfield Police Department, where he ultimately retired in 2019.

We are grateful for Officer Burger’s years of dedicated service to the law enforcement profession and the communities he served.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his wife, Kathy, former Medford Township Manager, as well as his family, friends, and fellow officers at the Haddonfield Police Department during this difficult time.

Rest in peace, Officer Burger. Thank you for your service.

MISCHIEF NIGHT SAFETY REMINDER

As Halloween approaches, the Medford Township Police Department would like to remind everyone that Thursday, October 30th, is Mischief Night!

While we want everyone to enjoy the Halloween festivities, we ask that you make responsible decisions and respect our community.

🚫 No Vandalism: Egging, toilet papering, graffiti, and damaging property or Halloween decorations can result in criminal charges.

🏡 Respect Our Neighbors: Be mindful of others and their property. What may seem like a harmless prank can cause damage and unnecessary stress for residents.

👮 Avoid Disorderly Conduct: Disruptive gatherings and destructive behavior will not be tolerated.

🚗 Drive Safely: Be alert for pedestrians, especially children and teenagers who may be out enjoying the evening.

Our officers will be out patrolling throughout the evening to help ensure a safe night for everyone.

Have fun, make good choices, and remember a prank is never worth a criminal charge!

Let’s work together to keep Medford safe and make this Halloween enjoyable for everyone!
