🚨🇺🇸HAPPY NATIONAL FIRST RESPONDERS DAY! 🇺🇸🚨

Today, the Delaware County Department of Emergency Services proudly recognizes and thanks the dedicated individuals who answer the call, respond to emergencies, and serve our communities every day.

From the officers who protect our neighborhoods, to the firefighters who run toward danger, to the EMS professionals who provide lifesaving care, every role is essential to keeping Delaware County safe.

This year, we also celebrate a historic milestone for our 911 Public Safety Telecommunicators!

On October 22, 2026, Pennsylvania officially signed **House Bill 453 into law as Act 66 of 2026**, formally recognizing 911 telecommunicators as emergency responders. This long-awaited recognition honors the professionals who answer the call for help, gather critical information, coordinate police, fire, and EMS resources, and remain a lifeline for people experiencing some of the most difficult moments of their lives. Today, and every day, we are grateful for your commitment, courage, professionalism, and sacrifice.

To all our police officers, firefighters, EMS professionals, and 911 Public Safety Telecommunicators THANK YOU!
