Just before 5:00 a.m. on Monday, June 15, while preparing to clear a motor vehicle accident in Edgemont, Rescue 50 was advised of a building fire being dispatched in Middletown Township.

Company 50, along with mutual aid companies, was dispatched to the 300 block of Mt. Alverno Road for the box assignment. While responding, Rescue 50 was advised that fire had been reported from the roofline, prompting the working fire dispatch to be struck.

Rescue 50 arrived quickly on scene and assumed the first-due engine assignment. The crew initiated a split lay from the intersection of Harvard Road and Mt. Alverno Road before stretching a 1ΒΎ-inch handline into service. Tac 17 arrived as the second-due engine and completed Rescue 50's water supply.
Quint 50 also responded and assisted interior crews with fire suppression operations, stretching additional handlines and operating in the attic and on the roof of the structure.

Lieutenant 50A established and maintained Mt. Alverno Command until the arrival of Deputy 46, at which time command was transferred.

Crews worked together to bring the fire under control and complete overhaul operations before returning the scene to normal conditions.
