Last week, MADD New York was part of the AAA Teen Safety Summit hosted by our partner AAA Northeast . Regional Program Director Isai Fuentes showcased MADD's Power of You(th) to the audience, made up of local Long Island High School SADD clubs, as well as community and traffic safety partners. Isai was joined by MADD Volunteers Sydney & Zachary Sheena who discussed the importance and ease of bringing MADD's Underage Substance Use message to the conference audience. Our segment's conclusion, given by Zachary Sheena, featured an important call to action to encourage everyone to make healthy and safe choices.
Many teens face the pressures of alcohol and substance use at an early age. MADD's Underage Substance Use programs are available free of charge to the community and also offer opportunities for youth such as SADD club members to be trained in our programs to offer a presentation guided by MADD staff to their fellow peers. If you are interested in learning on how you can bring MADD's programs to your community or on how you can have your local student groups be involved, contact Regional Program Director Isai Fuentes today: [email protected].
