PFJ is endorsing JB Smiley, Jr. for Shelby County Mayor!

This office holds real power over real lives: the county budget, our jails, youth detention, access to mental and physical health, availability of affordable housing, and more.

On City Council, Smiley has shown up in action, not just words. He's committed to fixing crumbling infrastructure, investing in mental health and reentry, pushing back against military deployment, and standing with immigrants.

In this moment of federal and state overreach, we need someone in the County Mayor's seat who will use that power with and for the people, and that's JB Smiley, Jr.

Vote early for JB Smiley, Jr. before April 30! Poll location and schedule info here:https://electionsshelbytn.gov/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/EV-Locations-5.5.26-Election-with-hours-8.5X11.pdf

PFJ is endorsing Anthony Buckner for Shelby County Sheriff.

In 2022, our community made history by electing a progressive District Attorney and a Juvenile Court Judge.

Now we're building on that momentum: the Sheriff's office is the next frontier for real justice reform in Shelby County.

Buckner knows this system from the inside, and we believe he has what it takes to change it. With Buckner in office, we'll have the opportunity to push for improved and humane conditions in 201 Poplar, expanded diversion programs, and the transparency that has been missing from this office for too long.

Join us in supporting Anthony Buckner for Sheriff, and get out and vote early before April 30!
