In February 2026, the Collierville Police Department began investigating the theft of a vehicle from the 100 block of Highway 72. What followed was a months-long investigation that demonstrated the determination of our officers and detectives and the value of strong partnerships among law enforcement agencies across Tennessee.

CPD investigators utilized multiple investigative resources, reviewed surveillance footage, analyzed available data, and followed leads extending beyond Collierville. Later that month, CPD coordinated with the Metro Nashville Police Department after the stolen vehicle was located in their jurisdiction.

As the investigation progressed, CPD detectives worked alongside the Goodlettsville Police Department to identify those involved in the theft. Through the examination of digital evidence, the use of law enforcement investigative resources, and persistent follow-up, detectives were able to positively identify the suspect believed responsible for the crime.

After warrants were secured, CPD coordinated with the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office, which assisted in taking the suspect into custody. Yesterday, CPD officers traveled to Sumner County and transported the suspect back to Collierville, where the individual faces charges of Auto Theft and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.

This arrest reflects the professionalism, investigative skill, and relentless determination our personnel bring to serving the Collierville community. It also highlights the strength of collaboration among law enforcement agencies across Tennessee. Criminal investigations do not stop at jurisdictional boundaries, and neither does the commitment of the law enforcement professionals working together to hold offenders accountable.

We extend our appreciation to the Metro Nashville Police Department, Goodlettsville Police Department, and Sumner County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance and partnership throughout this investigation.

Today in Nashville, the Collierville Police Department received its 5th Certificate of Meritorious Accreditation from the Tennessee Association of Chiefs of Police!

The Tennessee Law Enforcement Accreditation (TLEA) Program recognizes agencies that meet high standards in training, operations, policies, and accountability.

CPD is also a longtime accredited agency through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA), a national program that sets professional standards for law enforcement agencies across the country.

We're proud of these accomplishments, but even more proud of the men and women of CPD who work hard every day to meet these standards. Accreditation isn't just about earning a certificate. It's about making sure we're doing things the right way and providing the best possible service to our community.
