Please share! NEW DATE!
April is recognized as "Second Chance Month" to raise awareness about the challenges faced by individuals with criminal records and to promote opportunities for successful reentry and positive outcomes. Shelby County is committed to providing second chances and we are kicking off the month with a resource fair.
We have over 40 vendors (members of the Shelby County Reentry System) that have confirmed their participation. All of our committees will be represented: Workforce, Human Development, Housing, Mental Health, just to name a few.
Our goal for the event is to show that Shelby County fully supports second chances and there is a system of service providers that are working collaboratively to ensure our citizens have viable pathways to success.
Join us!!!
If you have a loved one that has been recently released from incarceration, take a moment to listen. It may assist in how you receive them.

Today’s Shelby County Office Of Reentry Justice Network meeting was very productive. We had the Chairman of the Greater Memphis Chamber Chairman's Circle Bill Dunavant to join us as a guest. We discussed the opportunities in the workforce development space and the intersection with the justice involved population. As service providers, it was refreshing to have his perspective and his attention.
We look forward to working with Chairman Dunavant and the Chamber, as we continue to deepen our relationship and break down barriers. At the Shelby County Division of Corrections, we are committed to producing positive, productive citizens.
