Throughout the month of June, we celebrate the power of family reunification and its positive impact on the lives of children in the foster care system and their parents. National Reunification Month allows us to highlight the importance of family preservation and the efforts undertaken to ensure children remain or are reunited with their families whenever safely possible.

Congratulations to CASA volunteer, Cheyenne Staten! She’s been an amazing CASA volunteer all while being a law student. We’re so proud she just graduated University of Memphis Cecil C. It is a hard truth, but one we cannot ignore: many individuals in the criminal justice system share a similar starting point, a childhood marked by abuse or neglect, without the support needed to heal from that trauma.

Child abuse does not just affect a moment in time. It shapes futures.

When we prevent child abuse, we do more than protect a child today. We change the trajectory of a life.
We reduce the likelihood of future harm, including involvement in criminal behavior, and we build stronger, safer communities for everyone.

April is recognized as , a time to raise awareness and take action. But protecting children is not a one-month effort. It is a year-round responsibility.

Every child deserves safety.
Every child deserves support.
Every child deserves the chance to grow into a healthy, thriving adult.

And that starts with us.

"Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" is more than a simple mantra from Rocky in Paw Patrol - these three "R's" show us how to best care for our largest, life-sustaining resource - Earth! Help the children in your life celebrate by going on a nature scavenger hunt, recycling household waste or making art from "trash." Tennessee CASA National CASA / GAL Association for Children
