Build Back Better Bill regarding Childcare:
1) Requires all daycare providers and staff (including in-home providers & teachers) to have an ECE college degree. There is nothing that I can find that says the bill will pay for this requirement.
2) Blocks most faith-based childcare programs from participating in the system.
3) Blocks family members who are being paid to watch their grandchildren, nieces, nephews, etc. from participating in the system.

My thoughts: These regulations are going to make it even more difficult for childcare programs. We are having a very difficult time trying to get staff in our area. Even the elite preschool here had to lower their standard of requiring ECE degrees to accepting anyone who will apply. Personally, I prefer hiring staff who have a passion for children over someone with a degree and no common sense.

This bill has passed in the house, but has not yet come up in the senate. You may want to contact your senator to let them know how you feel about this provision.
