Hello Shelby County!!

Yesterday the sun🌞 ☀️ was shining, the birds 🐦were singing 🎶 and the vibes were good as it was the annual Harvest Festival🍁🎃🍂

The education team had some fun educational lessons for youth and we had a fantastic group of volunteers (Memphis Area Master Gardeners, U of Memphis and high school students) who helped run games🏀🏈, serve popcorn 🍿and do some amazing face painting 🖼 🎨 🖌.

Our 4-Hers were even out in full force running a Smoothie King booth to help raise funds for 4-H programming and share the awareness of Shelby County 4-H.

Thank you to our amazing group of volunteers who made this Harvest Festival so amazing!! Of course a MASSIVE THANK YOU to Mr. Jackson for the Smoothie King partnership with 4-H!

Until 2027....

Hello Shelby County 👻🍀🐎🐴

Yesterday, our Ghost Riders had a meeting that was a spa day 💅 for Ms. Kitty as our youth got a hands-on lesson about farrier work!!

Our guest speaker, Jonathan Jio Samuelsson, showed the youth various farrier tools, explained their functions, and showed different types of horse shoes.

Afterwards, Ms. Kitty was treated to a spa day💅 where Jonathan explained parts of the hoof, their functions and hoof diseases.

Thank you Jonathan for this fun lesson!!

Participants learned new ways to grow fruits and vegetables in their own backyards and bring more homegrown food to their tables. Thank you to both locations for sharing their knowledge with us! 🪏 🥕 🍓
