Douglass High School is celebrating our AMAZING ESL Team! 🌎📚✨

Our ESL team is made up of three outstanding educators: Ms. Jennifer White, Mrs. Juliet Carr, and Mrs. Adrian Douglas. These incredible ladies show up every single day with purpose, passion, and a deep commitment to ensuring our students receive instruction at the highest and most rigorous levels possible.

As our ESL students begin taking the ELPA21 exam, this team has gone above and beyond to create a testing environment filled with love, encouragement, snacks, and motivating energy. They understand that success is not just about academics. It is about support, care, and belief in every child.

We also want to extend a very warm welcome to Mrs. Adrian Douglas, the newest member of the team! Mrs. Douglas joins us from the corporate teaching world and made the powerful decision to transition her talents to serve K-12 students. From day one, she has brought a strong, fiery passion for learning, teaching, and working hard to achieve great results for our scholars.

Students received their report cards today. Please continue to stay informed about your child’s academic progress.

Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on Thursday, January 22, from 4:00–7:00 PM. This is an important opportunity to meet with your child’s teachers, discuss progress, and partner together to support student success.

Families must bring a driver’s license or bill that verifies their name and Shelby County address. An on-site eligibility form will also be required.

Food boxes will be given first come, first served while supplies last.
