Lost & Found Reminder! 🧥🎒

If you’re joining us on campus for tonight’s Side-by-Side Concert, please take a few moments to stop by the Lost & Found in the school cafeteria and check for any missing items. Unclaimed belongings will be donated shortly after Fall Break, so don’t miss the opportunity to reunite with your lost treasures!

Thank you for helping us clear out our Lost & Found and ensure items make it back to their owners.

The Maxine Smith STEAM Academy (MSSA) Ambassadors, cheer team, and members of the band will welcome and cheer on Idlewild students as they arrive this Friday morning. Following their arrival, the 5th grade students will gather in the gym for a brief program.

Many of the MSSA students participating are Idlewild alumni and are excited to return to their former school to encourage graduating fifth grade students to consider MSSA for their middle school journey. Their presence provides a unique opportunity for future students to hear firsthand about the experiences, opportunities, and benefits of attending MSSA.

🌳🦅 Big Things Are Coming to the Front of Idlewild! 🦅🌳

Eagle families, we have some exciting news! Phase Two of our front-of-school beautification project is scheduled to take place over fall break and will be completed before students return the following week.

This project builds on the Phase One enhancements completed around the school’s entrance about a year and a half ago. Phase Two will transform the remaining frontage of our historic campus, extending all the way down the sidewalk alongside our new field.

You may have already noticed a few changes around campus. Several crepe myrtles have been removed, making our beautiful historic building more visible than ever. Our majestic oak trees have also been carefully pruned to help preserve their health and beauty for years to come.

These improvements are just the beginning. Robinson Tree Service and Elliott Lawns & Landscape have already been hard at work preparing the grounds and installing a new irrigation system in anticipation of the project.

We can’t wait for our students to return after fall break and see a front entrance that reflects just how much we love and care for our school community.

A huge thank you to our dedicated Beautification Committee volunteers, Robinson Tree Service, Tim Elliott and the team at Elliott Lawns & Landscape, and their valued partners for helping bring this vision to life.

Most importantly, thank you to the many Idlewild families who have contributed to this initiative over the years. This transformation would not be possible without your generosity and support. 💙

Stay tuned for before-and-after photos! 📸

🦅 A huge Eagle-sized THANK YOU to our Beautification Committee volunteers! 🦅

Three superstar Idlewild dads, Strat Parrott, Marshal Lawlor, and Danny Royle worked together to make sure our new field now has a shed to house the play equipment our students will use every day! 🛠️⚽🏀

Danny handled the pick-up, transport and delivery of the 300lb shed and Strat and Marshall assembled it last Saturday morning. We love seeing families working side by side to make Idlewild a place where every Eagle can play, grow, and thrive. Thanks for rolling up your sleeves and showing up for our kids guys! We are so grateful for you!

🦅 The Idlewild Family Businesses Database is UP AND RUNNING! 🦅

Did you know our Idlewild community is full of talented business owners, entrepreneurs, and service providers? Now there’s one place to find them all!

Our PTO has created the Idlewild Family Businesses Database, a directory of businesses owned and run by our very own school families.

✨ Need a plumber, a photographer, a caterer, or a birthday cake? Start here first.
✨ Planning a party, a home project, or a gift? Check the database.
✨ Want your dollars to do double duty? Shop local, shop Eagle!

When we choose businesses within our school community, we’re not just getting great service. We’re strengthening the neighbors, classmates, and friends who make Idlewild special. 💙

👉 Bookmark the database and make it your go-to before you buy: https://shorturl.at/1ZWE8

🛍️ Thanks to Whitney Winkler, shopping is now community service. You’re welcome. 😂

Through the end of September, 10% of sales at Whitney Winkler Art & Shop will come right back to Idlewild! 💙

So, skip the big-box store and head over to 503 Hollywood St., Tuesday–Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Find something special for a friend (or treat yourself — we won’t judge), all while supporting a local business and helping our school.

We’re so grateful to everyone who shows up for Idlewild—all of you and the local businesses that invest in our kids. 💙
