Happy Earth Day! We hope you have a moment today to reflect on the beauty and wonder of our natural world, how it positively impacts our lives and communities, and how we can better protect it now and in the future. Clean water, air, and land are essential to the health and well-being of our residents, as well as the economic prosperity of our community.

While we have lots to do to reduce pollution and fight climate change, we wanted to take a moment today to celebrate the recent adoption of the Memphis Area Climate Action Plan by Memphis City Council. The climate action plan sets out ambitious goals for reducing our community's carbon footprint and in turn improving air and water quality, increasing opportunities for green jobs, and ensuring a more resilient and equitable community.
