👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family: Married with 3 children, 1 boy and 2 girls

❤️ Why did Johnny become a firefighter?
“To get to do awesome stuff, and to hopefully make a positive difference in someone’s worst moment.”

🤝 What does he enjoy most about the fire service?
The community, the training, and especially the camaraderie with his fellow firefighters.

⚾🏒🏍️ When he’s not at the station:
Johnny enjoys playing baseball, coaching his sons, playing hockey, and riding motorcycles.

😂 What makes Johnny unique?
He makes it a point to keep everyone laughing, whether they're on a scene, training, or just hanging out at the station.

“I feel that it is important to keep a good and positive energy in a profession that can be overwhelmingly hard at times.”

👨‍🚒 Meet Firefighter Conner Newlands! 🔥

Firefighter/EMT Conner Newlands is proudly following in the footsteps of family members by serving the Memphis community.

When asked why he chose the fire service, Conner shared:
🗣️ “Helping people is what drives me.”

Whether it’s responding to emergencies or simply being there for his neighbors, Conner is committed to making a difference.

Conner also plays a critical role in our department as a daytime firefighter, stepping in when others aren’t available and helping ensure we always have boots on the ground during key daytime hours. His reliability and flexibility make him a huge asset to the team.

Off duty, Conner enjoys the great outdoors—especially hunting—and spending quality time with his tight-knit family, including his mom, dad, brother, and sister.

Conner is also engaged and is excited about the new season of life around the corner!

We’re proud to have Conner on the team and grateful for the important role he plays in keeping our community safe!

Today we had 44 2nd graders visit us at the fire department. They were learning about what a community is and how the fire department is part of it

The Memphis Fire Department gained two fully certified firefighters last night when they graduated from the St. Clair County Fire Academy. Congratulations to Brandon Rhein and Marcus Amesse!
