Our Day of Action was a success!
We spent this morning cleaning up trash and beautifying the Orange Mound area. It’s always great to get out into the community and make it a nicer place to live!

Another great meeting tonight!
The biggest takeaways are our upcoming events. Tomorrow is the Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event. Saturday is the Day of Action in Orange Mound. Finally, next Tuesday (October 2) is the gubernatorial debate between Karl Dean and Bill Lee which will take place here at the University of Memphis. We would love to have many college students out before the debate showing off their support for Karl Dean and greeting people at the doors. There will be more information in the next edition of 60 Seconds with the Prez concerning these events.
The midterms are getting closer and closer, let’s carry this momentum into November!

We wrapped up our voter registration drive this afternoon!
Everyone says it, but it’s crucial that we get as many people registered to vote as possible. One vote can be the difference between who wins or loses an election.
University of Memphis students, if you haven’t registered to vote yet, it’s not too late! There will be many organizations registering voters all next week across campus because we understand just how important these midterm elections are.
Have a great weekend and Go Tigers! 🐯
