What a wonderful day we had at the Annual Le Bonheur Club Sustainers Luncheon! Congratulations to former President, September Eason, who accepted the Pat Klinke Award, the Club’s highest honor. Many thanks to Sustainers Chair, Carmen Bond, Ridgeway Country Club and all who attended! The day was filled with beautiful fashions from Sustainer Cindy Gambrell of Kittie Kyle, surprise awards, and first hand Le Bonheur stories. Our own Allison Holden and Monique Jalenak shared how congenital heart defects affected them personally and served as an important reminder why the LBC volunteer and fundraising work is so important for the hospital, patients and families. We hope you had a great time and enjoyed the fashion, food, and friendship.

We kicked off 2026 at our first membership meeting of the year by coming together with our “Volun-Teams” to make no-sew blankets for infants at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital and to discuss all the ways we plan volunteer this year. We were honored to hear from the Heart Institute’s pediatric cardiac surgeon Danielle Gottlieb Sen, MS, MD, MPH. She came to Le Bonheur in 2025 from Johns Hopkins Hospital, where she was an assistant professor of surgery, a congenital heart surgeon, director of pediatric cardiac surgery research and director of pediatric surgery quality and outcomes. Dr. Gottlieb Sen is one of 22 women congenital heart surgeons in the United States. We were truly inspired by her story and her dedication to help children in Memphis and all over the world. This is going to be an exciting year for Le Bonheur Club!
