“Being a piano and organ player, I favor the terpsichorean arts, so I’m particularly psyched that the season for outdoor live music is upon us. Concerts in The Grove at GPAC, one of the best places for that, will host the MD’s, as fine a Booker T. & the MG’s tribute band as you could ask for, on June 18th, so that’s a no-brainer for me. But I’m also a film buff, and I can’t miss the special screening of Jaws at the Orpheum Theatre on June 20th (which I vividly recall seeing in the cinema when I was 10) — especially since attending Chloe Claudel’s stellar underground theater production Time Passes in Brooklyn this year, a vivid reimagining of Ellen Brody, the wife from Spielberg’s blockbuster, reciting all her lines from Jaws, plus a chapter from Viginia Woolf’s To the Lighthouse.” - Alex Greene, Composer, Rolling Head Orchestra | Music Editor, Memphis Flyer
