Airman Spotlight: Staff Sgt. Tatyana Brasswell

Staff Sgt. Tatyana Brasswell mobilized Team Memphis to make a lasting impact, leading a base-wide donation drive in support of the Memphis Union Mission. With the backing of the Chiefs Council, her efforts generated 2,712 donated items—delivering critical support to those in need.

Her decisive leadership, initiative, and unwavering commitment to service embody the very best of Team Memphis—driving mission success while strengthening the community we serve.

Congratulations to Senior Master Sgt. Nathaniel Von Allmen on retiring from his military career after 24 years of service. Thank your for service and the continued hardwork you do as a civilian at the 164th Airlift Wing.

The 164th Airlift Wing's Maintenance Operations Flight held a change of command ceremony Saturday, April 11, as Lt. Col. Jason Fisher relinquished command of the flight to Capt. Andrew Fortier.

Congratulations Lt. Col. Tamara James on your promotion!

Family members of Lt. Col. James pinned her new rank to her shoulder boards during a promotion ceremony in the 164th Airlift Wing auditorium. Lt. Col. James is the 164th's Wing Executive, overseeing the operations of the Headquarters Squadron.

"When seconds mattered, our Soldiers stepped in and provided critical first aid that helped save a life,” said Lt. Col. Jacob Partridge, commander of the 230th Engineer Battalion.

Tennessee National Guardsmen with the Memphis Safe Task Force, and the Memphis Police Department, responded to a shooting in North Memphis, providing immediate medical aid to the victim and securing key evidence, April 12.

Air Force One arrived in Memphis as national and military leaders gathered at the Memphis Air National Guard Base, March 23, 2026.

U.S. President Donald J. Trump visited the 164th Airlift Wing to deliver remarks on the National Guard's role in supporting law enforcement efforts across multiple cities, emphasizing coordination among federal, state, and local partners.

The visit brought together senior leaders from across agencies, highlighting the importance of unified efforts in strengthening public safety and national readiness.
