Working to make Memphis a better place to live. I'm Right for Memphis because I'm just like you – honest, hard working, & ready for real and POSITIVE change!
As a 3rd generation, lifelong Memphian, Robin believes in the good of this City, despite the difficult challenges it continues to face. Memphians look around and often see the same old, tired career politicians from yester-year running to rule this city once again. Memphis’ elites have held on to control for far too long and it’s time to let the real people of Memphis restore our city to greatness
. I am running for Memphis City Council in Super District 9, Position 1 against Kemp Conrad, who voted for the TDZ, is against Saving the Coliseum, and has increased his wealth trifold while being on the Council. Here are a few of my main "Focus" areas. I urge you all to check out my website at www.rightformemphis.com (it's still under a bit of construction). I whole-heartedly support saving the Coliseum and stopping the TDZ. No big box stores, no mall, no sports complex and hotel in Midtown or at the fairgrounds. I feel very strongly about that! I'm still working on my website and will have more info about my issues up soon. I'm also running on the #DeannexMe team/slate not because I have an option to be de-annexed but (1) because I believe that citizens should have the right to vote for or against their annexation (2) should be able to get out if the popular vote agrees that they want out and (3) that the city of Memphis spent too much money annexing land and trying to grow horizontally instead of vertically. If we allow those who do not want to be in the city of Memphis to leave and pay the money it Will cost to get out, the we can focus on growing vertically and spend that money on things like firefighter and policeman pensions, upkeep of foreclosed properties and stopping the blight in this city, to provide water filters to low income families in order to help stop the illnesses coming from fluoride and lead which are hitting the older housing communities hard. I am also for reinstating the pension/benefits for firefighters and policemen who were promised this money – even a 7yr old can tell you that it isn't right to renege when you make a promise. I believe in helping create an educated populous In order to manifest meaningful change in this city. I'm for transparency in all forms of government and for honest hard-working Memphians who are tired of being raked over the coals whole Memphis elites continue to line their pockets with our hard earned tax dollars. New Faces and a Fresh Perspective for this City!! For far too long have the Memphis elites sought and won control of this city. It's time that real Memphians take it back. Robin Spielberger for Memphis City Council is Right for Memphis, because I am just like all of you - honest, hard-working, and ready for a REAL and POSITIVE change!
