What an exciting day we had last week when the one and only Joey "the Weather Mane" Sulipek came to GTW. He shared the journey and experiences that led him to pursue a career as a meteorologist. Our Innovators and staff were excited to see Joey and the engagement level was high. Thank you, Joey, for investing in our community and taking the time to connect with our Innovators. Shout out to our middle school science teacher, Ms. Gaston, for reaching out and arranging the visit.

A little late but a couple weeks ago we hosted a STEM Challenge where we competed against City University Schools in a series of challenges that allowed our Innovators to apply the engineering design process, critical thinking skills and teamwork and collaboration. Our Innovators and the scholars from City University were impressive as they competed in 5 challenges including flash build/construction, spaghetti tower, catapult, paper airplane and windy city challenge. GTW came out on top in a very tight battle. Amazing things happen when Charters work together to provide our Children with opportunities to succeed. This will be an annual event and we look forward to traveling to City University in the fall to compete.

Congratulations to our 4th Grade Teacher Ms. Holly Chapman and our 4th grade Innovators for finishing 2nd in the state in SpringBoard 2026. SpringBoard is an annual nationwide Math and English contest for schools in the USA, designed to help students master the skills for their current grade level. During this 6-week contest, students earn points by participating in Math and English challenges on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Our Innovators will be able to keep the momentum going with their prize of a free quarterly subscription. Way to go Bobcats!

CONGRATULATIONS to Harmony M. and Camille A, who competed at the Track & Field State Championship last weekend in Knoxville. Harmony placed 4th in the discus and 5th in the shot put in just her 1st year competing. Camille A. placed 8th in the 400m. We are so proud of our Innovators. Special shout-out to Coach C and Ms. Gomes, who traveled with our Innovators and introduced them to the wonderful world of Buc-ees!

BIG SHOUT OUT to our very own Coach Anthony Cohran, aka Coach C, for being recognized as the Small School Athletic Director of the Year! Coach C oversees our top-tier sports program, which includes girls and boys basketball for grades 3-8, track and field, flag football, and our new girls volleyball team. We don't just compete - WE WIN! Thank you Coach C for your hard work and commitment to our Innovators. #

Our 8th Grade Innovators understood the assignment. They were absolutely stunning at prom last weekend! From the elegant dresses to the sharp suits and foot gear, they truly dressed to impress and enjoyed an unforgettable evening filled with fun, laughter, and memories. The Garden of Glamour was definitely a night to remember!
