Gold Cross Ambulance In northeastern Wisconsin, we are experts in the business of saving lives. Each year, our crews respond to more than 17,000 calls.

We provide 911 ambulance service to more than 280,000 people in 1,200 square miles of portions of Outagamie, Winnebago, Calumet and Waupaca counties. We also bring our EMS expertise to the larger region through our management services, making us the only not-for-profit, regional ambulance service in the state.

Members of our team recently attended the Professional Ambulance Association of Wisconsin's (PAAW) Midwest EMS Expo, connecting with EMS professionals from across the region, sharing ideas, and talking through the challenges and opportunities facing EMS.

We’re always glad for the chance to learn from others in EMS and bring that perspective back to the communities we serve.

Most cardiac arrests don’t happen in public. They happen at home.

That’s one reason CPR training and early action matter so much. In many cases, the first person to help is a family member, friend, or other bystander.

Gold Cross offers group CPR and first aid training for businesses, organizations, and community groups. Learn more or register at www.goldcross.org/class-registration/

It started with a request for a coloring book. It turned into a pretty special afternoon.

A local homeschool family reached out because their child loves ambulances and wondered if Gold Cross had any activities we could share.

We decided to take it one step further and bring the ambulance to them.

A few other homeschool kids joined in, and before long they were climbing aboard, checking out the equipment, asking questions, and getting a closer look at what our crews do every day.

Their excitement was contagious, and our team had just as much fun sharing a little bit of the EMS world with them.

Safe to say, this was a pretty great day for everyone.

The future of EMS starts with people who feel called to serve. 💙

The Gold Cross Ambulance Scholarship helps support students pursuing a career as a paramedic while honoring the legacy of Steven E. Gerbers, a longtime Gold Cross team member who dedicated 29 years to helping people in their time of need.

Two $1,000 scholarships are available for eligible full-time paramedic students at select Wisconsin technical colleges. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.5; we also consider community service, healthcare experience, and financial need.

Applications are due December 1.

Our cardiac arrest survival rates don’t happen by accident. 💙

They start with someone nearby knowing CPR. An AED being available when it’s needed. A first responder arriving and beginning care before the ambulance gets there.

Gold Cross teaches CPR to more than 6,000 people each year, supports community AED placement through the HeartStart Foundation, and works with 28 first responder groups throughout our service area.

The data tells a powerful story. 💙

Gold Cross cardiac arrest survival outcomes continue to outperform state and national averages, especially when bystanders step in before EMS arrives.

At the same time, HeartStart helped place 32 public-access AEDs in the community in the last year bringing the total to more than 300 AEDs since 1998.

Early action saves lives. And a prepared community makes a difference.

In the days immediately after the tornado, Gold Cross Ambulance team members were on the ground supporting our community. 💙

For our crews, responding to an emergency means more than the moment the storm hits. It also means being there in the critical hours and days that follow, supporting neighbors, local agencies, and fellow first responders.

We are proud of our team and grateful to everyone working together to help our community recover.
