Menasha Utilities is aware of recent media coverage and community discussion regarding utility bills. We understand that receiving a bill that is significantly different than expected can be frustrating and concerning, and our staff is available to review individual accounts and answer questions.
For clarity, Menasha Utilities provides electric and water service in the City of Menasha and also bills sewer and stormwater charges on behalf of the City. We Energies provides natural gas service, which is billed separately.
When a customer contacts Menasha Utilities with a billing concern, staff can review daily usage, compare current and historical billing information, explain the billing cycle, and help identify changes in usage that may have affected the bill. Customers can also view daily usage through the online customer portal. If additional review is needed, utility staff can conduct further investigation from the utility side.
Menasha Utilities operates under rules and rates established or approved by the Wisconsin Public Service Commission. Customers may also contact the PSC Consumer Affairs Division at 800-225-7729 or visit psc.wi.gov for additional assistance.
We are also aware of questions surrounding a specific customer account recently discussed in the media. Because utility account information is private, Menasha Utilities cannot publicly discuss the details of an individual customer’s billing history. We have offered to work directly with the customer to review the account and address their questions.
Our focus is helping customers understand their bill, their usage, and the options available when something does not look right.
Customers with questions about their Menasha Utilities bill are encouraged to call (920) 967-3400 so staff can review their account directly.
