Over the weekend, we had the pleasure of joining forces with Mendon Fire Department, Upton Police Department, and the Upton Fire Department to take part in a softball match against our rivaled Nipmuc Youth Softball League. It goes without saying that we were no match for these talented young women!

Twenty five years ago today, the United States faced the deadliest terrorist attack in our nation’s history. This morning, we joined the Mendon Fire Department for its annual remembrance ceremony honoring the civilians and first responders who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.

Following the ceremony, Brayden and his brother, Landon, stopped by with a cake in recognition of 9/11. Brayden also wanted to express his interest in our open police officer position. Although he may need a few more years before applying, we gave both brothers a tour of the station and our police cruisers.

We thank Brayden and Landon for their thoughtful visit and join our community in remembering all those lost 25 years ago today. We will never forget.
