We are incredibly proud to celebrate Jack Medovich, P.E., recipient of the 2026 Henry S. Parmelee Award, the American Fire Sprinkler Association’s highest honor.
For more than 40 years, Jack has dedicated his career to protecting lives, advancing the fire sprinkler industry, and supporting the people who make it possible. From his early career with the Fairfax County Fire Marshal’s Office to founding East Coast Fire Protection and growing it into Fire and Life Safety America, Jack has made an impact at every level of the industry.
Since FLSA joined Summit in 2021, Jack has continued to share his knowledge and experience across our organization, supporting operations, acquisitions, technical initiatives, and some of our most complex projects.
But Jack’s impact extends far beyond his professional accomplishments. He has served on NFPA code-writing committees for more than four decades, spent 17 years on the AFSA Board of Directors, including serving as national board chair, founded the Burn Survivors Foundation, established a fire protection engineering scholarship at the University of Maryland, and has spent countless years mentoring and supporting the next generation of fire and life safety professionals.
As AFSA recognized, Jack’s career is one defined not only by technical expertise, but by service, mentorship, character, and integrity.
Jack may have officially entered retirement, but he continues to contribute to the industry through consulting, associations, and causes that are important to him.
Congratulations, Jack, on this well-deserved honor. We are grateful for your leadership, friendship, mentorship, and 48 years of dedication to an industry that protects people and property every day.
