Preventing infections is something we all have a hand in!

Small everyday actions can help protect you and the people around you, like staying up to date on recommended vaccines, covering coughs and sneezes, cleaning frequently touched surfaces, and staying home when you’re sick.

During International Infection Prevention Week, we’re recognizing the simple steps that help stop germs from spreading in our homes, workplaces, schools, and community.

Don’t let UV rays come back to haunt you!

Even when summer is over, the sun’s UV rays can still damage your skin. Before heading outside, grab the sunscreen, cover up when you can, and don’t forget your sunglasses.

☀️ Sun protection isn’t just for summer—it’s important all year long, whether you’re close to home or traveling somewhere sunny.

This Global Handwashing Day, here’s your reminder to wash with soap and clean, running water for at least 20 seconds. According to the CDC, washing your hands with soap and water is one of the best ways to stay healthy and help prevent the spread of germs.

Need help reaching 20 seconds? Hum the “Happy Birthday” song twice while you scrub!

What song do you use for your 20-second handwashing timer?

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month!

You don’t have to be a cybersecurity expert to make your accounts safer. A few basic habits can help protect your information online:

• Update your software as soon as updates are available.
• Use strong, unique passwords — CISA recommends making them long (16+ characters) and different for every account.
• Turn on multifactor authentication (MFA) for an extra layer of protection.
• Watch for phishing. Be cautious of unexpected messages with strange links, urgent language, misspellings, or unfamiliar senders.

We use the internet for everything from banking and shopping to healthcare and keeping in touch. Taking a few minutes to strengthen your online security now can help protect your information later.
