📚 2,101 books donated and counting! 📚

Our community has donated 2,101 books to the Laundromat Book Bin Project so far in 2026! 🎉

A huge thank-you to everyone who has donated and helped make this project possible. Your generosity helps put books into the hands of readers throughout our community. ❤️📖

We’re especially looking for more board books! They go out the door really fast, so if you have gently used board books to donate, we’d love to add them to the bins!

Today, we’re taking a moment to celebrate and thank our incredible FoodWIse team. ❤️

For more than 30 years, FoodWIse has helped individuals and families build healthier lives through practical, evidence-based nutrition education—from meal planning and food safety to stretching food dollars and increasing access to healthy foods. Our educators have partnered with schools, food pantries, farmers markets, community centers and more to support healthier communities across Wisconsin.

As federal SNAP-Ed funding comes to an end, UW–Madison Extension’s FoodWIse programming is also coming to a close. While this chapter may be ending, the impact of this work—and the relationships built along the way—will continue to be felt throughout our communities.

A special thank you to Sandy Tarter, who retired yesterday after an incredible 16 years of service with FoodWIse. Sandy’s dedication, knowledge, and commitment to the people she served have made a lasting difference in our community. We are so grateful for everything she has given to this program and to Extension.

And to all of our FoodWIse staff: thank you. Thank you for showing up for families, sharing your expertise, building partnerships, and making a difference every day. Your work has mattered, and your impact will not be forgotten.

Please join us in celebrating Sandy and thanking all of our FoodWIse educators and staff for their years of service to Wisconsin communities.
