💐 Celebrating 90+ Years of Memories, Stories & Treasures! 💐

What a wonderful time we had celebrating our amazing 90+ honorees! This year’s theme, “Heirloom,” reminded us that life’s greatest treasures aren't always things, but the memories, traditions, and stories passed down through generations. ❤️

Tomorrow, Heirloom Comes to Life!

We are beyond excited for tomorrow’s 90+ Birthday Celebration Luncheon! 💙 This is just the first of many posts to come as we celebrate our incredible 90+ members and the memories, stories, and legacies that make them so special!

Before the celebration begins, we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful people and sponsors who have helped bring our Heirloom theme to life!

🚌🚌 Two buses FULL of seniors + one beautiful day = an adventure to remember! 🎨🌿✨

Today we headed to the Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens Ohio art Mart and what a fantastic time we had! We toured the gorgeous mansion 🏰, wandered through the beautiful gardens 🌸, admired—and purchased!—some incredible artwork 🎨🛍️, and of course, sampled some delicious eats from the food trucks! 🌮🍔😋

And apparently Mother Nature was on our side… 🌧️➡️☀️ The rain disappeared just as we stepped off the buses! Talk about perfect timing!

Great art, beautiful scenery, yummy food, lots of laughs, and wonderful company made this such a special day. ❤️

We think it’s safe to say this outing was two busloads of FUN! 🚌💨🥰

🐻🍩 That’s a wrap on Fat Bear Week! 🍩🐻

A HUGE congratulations to Backpack (89), this year’s national Fat Bear Week champion! 🏆🐻 And a big round of applause for 132 and her cubs, who were crowned the Mentor Senior Center’s Fat Bear Week winners! 👑🐻🐻🐻

What a fun week it’s been! We learned so much about bears, explored Katmai National Park (via the live streams), cheered on our favorites, and—of course—celebrated the best way we know how…with Fat Bear Week donuts! 🍩😋

Another Fat Bear Week is officially in the books. Thanks to everyone who joined in the fun, voted, learned, and celebrated these wonderfully chunky bears with us!

Now it’s time for our furry friends to get some well-earned rest. 💤

🐻🎉 Happy Fat Bear Week! 🎉🐻

We’re joining in on the fun with Katmai National Park & Preserve and the National Park Service to celebrate Fat Bear Week!

Here at the Mentor Senior Center, we’ll be following the National Fat Bear Week bracket AND holding our very own vote for our favorite fat bear! 🐻❤️

If you’re stopping in this week, waiting for your bus to pick you up, or just have a few minutes to spare, check out our Fat Bear Week display (in the lobby)! You can read about the bears, pick your favorite, and cast your vote by simply adding a tally mark. 🗳️🐾

🎨✨ Look what can happen when you sign up for an art class… especially when lunch is involved! 😉

We’re so excited to celebrate two wonderful artists from the Mentor Senior Center, Barbara Everett and Ginny Mancini (instructor), who are featured in The Beacon for their work in the “Three for the Road” exhibit!

Barbara’s art journey actually began right here at the Senior Center, where she met Ginny—and the two quickly discovered a shared love of painting, traveling and having FUN along the way. They even gave themselves the perfect name: “Two for the Road!” 🚗🎨

And the story has come full circle: Ginny now teaches the very art class that helped start Barbara’s journey! ❤️

We love seeing the friendships, talents and adventures that can grow from our Senior Center community. Congratulations, Barbara and Ginny! We’re so proud to see your creativity celebrated! 👏🎨✨
