We are grateful for Assemblymember Mia Bonta's leadership and advocacy in championing our $20M funding restoration ask so CASAs across California can continue meeting the needs of children and youth in foster care and the juvenile justice systems.
We encourage our communities to keep calling your representatives to ensure funding for Court Appointed Special Advocates is included in the State's final budget.

The California state budget is being finalized right now, and the most important decisions will be made in the next two weeks. What happens in Sacramento over these next few days will directly affect 50,000+ children and youth in California’s foster care system.
We encourage CASA supporters to contact their representatives with a simple message:
"Thank you for your support of foster youth. Please do all you can to reinstate the $20 million per year in funding for CASA programs in California."

Last night was a special evening. The Honorable Judge Bacciarini swore in five new Volunteers- marking the beginning of Class 65’s journey with CASA. Each of them is ready to make a difference in the lives of foster children in Merced County. Please join us in giving them a warm welcome!

This is what 288 backpacks look like! Thanks to Cares Car Wash and Ticket to Dream, our kiddos will be prepared for summer school and the 2026 / 2027 school year! We enjoyed the special delivery by Angie Alves, president of Ticket to Dream Board of Directors and her husband, Hernani. They also own Cares Car Wash. Did we mention, the backpacks are all full of supplies?!
