The Merced County Department of Public Health is reporting the detection of the measles virus in local wastewater from the Merced Wastewater Treatment Plan during routine surveillance. Congratulations to the Le Grand High School Bulldogs softball team on advancing to the CIF Division 5 NorCal Championship Semifinals!
This is the furthest any Bulldogs softball team has ever advanced in Le Grand High School history, and they are currently the only Merced County school still competing in the CIF Regional State Playoffs.
The Bulldogs will take the field again on Thursday, June 4, at 4 p.m. at Le Grand High School.
Join us in cheering on these outstanding student-athletes as they continue their historic postseason run. Good luck, Bulldogs!

County Notice: Helicopter Training at Henderson Park
Please be advised that a helicopter training exercise will take place tomorrow (Wednesday, June 3), from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Henderson Park in the Snelling area.
This collaborative training between the Merced County Sheriff's Office and the Merced County Fire Department will focus on water rescue operations. During the exercise, a helicopter will operate between the Merced River and an open field near the park entrance.
The training is designed to strengthen emergency response capabilities, enhance interagency coordination, and ensure personnel are prepared for real-world rescue situations.
Henderson Park will be closed during the training exercise. For everyone's safety, the public is asked to avoid the area during the scheduled training period.
