New hotel in District 1!

This last weekend I had the opportunity to go support those being inducted into the Golden Valley Hall of Fame. One of the inductees being Merced Police Department Capitan Perez! The other being life long coach, friend, and mentor Swarty! Two great choices for Golden Valley’s Hall of fame!

The Merced Police Department has identified the suspect in a homicide investigation as Moises Reyes. Reyes is wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old Hispanic male that occurred on January 25, 2026. The victim suffered a gunshot wound and, despite life-saving efforts, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The investigation determined the shooting stemmed from an altercation in the 1300 block of Stuart Drive. An active arrest warrant has been issued for Murder related to this incident.
