American Legion Post 83 - Merced, Ca.

The Post Commander was challenged by the SAL Commander to raise money for the Helmets for Heroes program to support the VA&R program. We are at the end of the year and ready to send in our donations. The Post raised $70.52. The Sons raised $139.28. The Sons added an extra $54 and were sending a total of $263.80. Way to go Sons of the American Legion. Let’s get started for next years donation. Want to help raise funds for Veteran Service Officers through the Helmet program? Just request a helmet to put in a place of business for people to add spare change. It’s that simple. Contact the office to get a helmet 209-722-0940. Leave a message if we’re not available and we’ll return your call as soon as possible.

Memorial Day ceremony at the Merced District cemetery. We had a great turnout. Thank you to our Master of Ceremonies Donavan Sizemore, Sgt Sunshine DeAnda USA, Danielle Lightner, CAP cadets , and the many others that participated. May we always remember those that have paid for our freedom with their lives.

Be sure to come and honor our local military heroes that have gone to Post Everlasting.

Here’s the agenda for tonight’s meeting. We will consider a motion to dispense with business so that we can move right to final nominations and elections.

Join the American Legion as we observe Memorial Day and honor our veterans that have passed on to Post Everlasting. The ceremony starts at 10a at the District cemetery for everyone to come and take part in a salute to those that have gone before us. Post 83 will have an open house following the ceremony for anyone who would like to see our Post.

Happy Mother’s Day. However it’s also our Commanders birthday. Let’s all wish Commander Jerry a very Happy Birthday 🎂🎉🎊🎈🎁
