Room Tax Grant applications for Quarter 3 are due to the office on November 1st. The application is found on the Town Website under Government – Forms & Permits Page. The Commission meets on November 15th at the Town Hall.
This is a great way for your organization to receive room tax funds to support an activity that could lead to an overnight stay.

Sample ballots below for the upcoming November 3rd Election for All Wards for the Town of Mercer. In person voting begins two weeks before the election, Tuesday, October 20th. The Office Hours for the Clerk's Office is 8 am to 3 pm - Monday through Friday, or by appointment. The Election takes place in the Community Center on November 3rd, 7 am to 8 pm. Budget Hearing and Meeting of the Electors

There is information related tomorrow night's budget hearing and information related to the Resolution By Town Electors To Endorse the Town Board's Resolution To Exceed the Levy Limit by $300,000/year for 10 years. You can find the information on the Notices Page and also on the Town Agenda/Minutes page.- townofmercer.com.

In summary, the levy has increased due to new construction (approximately 1% increase each year). Unfortunately this low increase in the levy does not allow the town to keep up with every increasing costs. A few examples include since 2020: paving costs expected to increase 65%, on road diesel fuel has increased over 250%, fire truck costs have increased approximately 200%. Not only are these substantial percentage inceases but they also are essential and expensive aspects of running a town of 159.6 miles of road and total area of 184.8 square miles.

The Town Board put a lot of consideration into the request to increase the levy but they feel that it is essential to keep our ever busier and growing community moving forward and safe.

Last day of summer Transfer Station hours is this weekend. Winter Transfer Station hours are: Monday 9-2, Tuesday 10-4, Wednesday and Saturday 7:30-1:30. Also, this Saturday is the last day of collection of bulky waste services.
