From turkeys 🦃 to black bears 🐻 and everything in between, Mercer County is full of amazing wildlife.

Children who stopped by our booth at The Great Stoneboro Fair were invited to show what wildlife in our area means to them and why conservation is important through an art contest.

This coming Saturday looks to be a beautiful fall day with 100% chance of engaging with our local history! We hope you bring the whole family out to Echoes Across the Water and visit with some of our local history partners. Mercer County Historical Society, Greenville Area Historical Society/Waugh House Museum, Grove City Area Historical Society and Museum, Mercer County Conservation District, and Clear Creek Forest District just to name a few. There will also be lots of demonstrations, such as wool spinning, blacksmithing, flintknapping, and crosscut sawing. Other activities include, fresh pressed apple sampling, atlatl throwing, mock archaeology digs, and cyanotypes.

🦆 The objective is to highlight the natural resources and beauty through a cooperative effort with residents and visitors to our great county.
🍂 Money raised through this effort will support the Ross Paulenich Memorial Conservation Scholarship.

🦟This week, the Pennsylvania Skeeter Meter is high due to frequent West Nile Activity.

🦟In Mercer County, there have been three positive West Nile samples.

🦟It is important to control mosquitoes around your home by dumping, draining, and drying any stagnant water where mosquitoes can live.

🦟Personal protection like long sleeves, pants and insect repellants are a great way to avoid bites!
