PLAINFIELD, N.H. – Three people were hurt in an impairment-related crash in Plainfield.
At 8:03 p.m., Tuesday, August 11, 2026, members of the Plainfield Police Department requested State Police assistance with a reported crash on Route 12A at the intersection of Beauty Hill Road in Plainfield. State Troopers assigned to the Troop C and Troop D barracks, as well as the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction (C.A.R.) Unit, responded.
The preliminary investigation determined that the driver of a red 2025 Toyota Tacoma, later identified as Michael Martin III, 18, of Claremont, was traveling southbound at a high rate of speed when, in the area of Beauty Hill Road, he crashed into a tan 2013 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Clayton Ezequelle, 53, of White River Junction, Vermont, causing significant damage. The Silverado then caught fire.
Ezequelle suffered life-threatening injuries, while Martin and his passenger were seriously injured. All three were transported to a regional hospital for treatment.
Martin was later arrested on charges of felony aggravated driving while intoxicated (DWI), felony reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, and other violation-level offenses. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Claremont District Court on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.
Troopers were assisted by members of the Plainfield police and fire departments, the Lebanon police and fire departments, the Cornish Fire Department, and the Windsor, VT, Fire/EMS.
