REMINDER, THIS THURSDAY, 9/17, Dawg House:
6:00pm – Meriden DTC Meeting
6:30pm – State Comptroller Sean Scanlon

Engage in a critical conversation with State Comptroller Sean Scanlon, the public official who safeguards Connecticut’s financial well-being, now running for re-election. While he assures that the state balances the books, Comptroller Scanlon also seeks to reform the excessive constraints of “fiscal guardrails,” so that Connecticut can fulfill its priorities. In his prior role as a legislator, he successfully fought unfair insurance industry practices and achieved tax relief for working families. As Comptroller, Sean Scanlon now uses his position to fight for accessible health care, education funding, and other urgent needs.

Special notes:
• This event is jointly sponsored by the Meriden Democratic Town Committee and Drinking Liberally Midstate/Meriden.

WHEN: Thursday, September 17, 6:00 p.m.
WHERE: Dawg House Bar & Grill, 999 Broad Street, Meriden

10 years ago today, the City of Meriden cut the ribbon on the Meriden Green, a testament to how years of collaboration between local, state, and federal officials can improve a city. A decade on, this combination flood control and community recreation space has garnered many awards, but the best reward have been the results of the on-going flood control projects in Meriden, of which the Green is the crown jewel. Greatly reducing the number of properties in the floodplain and damage caused by heavy rain events continues to pay dividends for our downtown.
