Fisher Road – Cross Pipe Replacement, Phase 2

Lauderdale County Road and Bridge crews have completed Phase 1 of the three planned cross-pipe replacements on Fisher Road. Phase 2 is scheduled to take place today, Wednesday, October 14, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

🚧 Please use an alternate route while this section of Fisher Road is closed to allow crews to complete the necessary road improvements.

⚠️ Please slow down and use caution while traveling in the area.

🚧 ROAD WORK UPDATE – MINNOW BUCKET ROAD 🚧

APAC-Mississippi, Inc. will be paving the westbound lane of Minnow Bucket Road today (Monday, October 12) and tomorrow (Tuesday, October 13).

Crews are scheduled to return Wednesday, October 14, to begin milling the eastbound lane. This work is expected to continue through the remainder of the week.

APAC anticipates completing the remaining paving operations on Tuesday, October 20, weather permitting.

⚠️ Motorists should expect temporary lane closures, traffic delays, and construction equipment throughout the work zone. Please use caution, reduce your speed, and consider alternate routes when possible.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation as we work to improve Minnow Bucket Road.

🚧⚠️ TRAFFIC ADVISORY ⚠️🚧

Fisher Road – Cross Pipe Replacements

Lauderdale County Road and Bridge crews will be replacing three cross pipes on Fisher Road this week. The first replacement is scheduled for Tuesday in the 5201–5257 block of Fisher Road. The second replacement will take place on Wednesday at 5754 Fisher Road, and the third replacement is scheduled for Thursday at 5995 Fisher Road.

🚧 ROAD CLOSURE: Fisher Road will be closed to through traffic from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. each day to allow crews to complete the construction work.

⚠️ Motorists are urged to slow down, use caution, and seek an alternate route while traveling in this area.

UPDATE - Zero Road Bridge Replacement

🚧🛣️ LAUDERDALE COUNTY APPROVES $3.7 MILLION PAVING PACKAGE 🛣️🚧

Lauderdale County is making a $3.7 million investment in transportation infrastructure that will improve more than 17 miles of roadway across all five supervisor districts. 👏

The Lauderdale County Board of Supervisors has approved a countywide paving package to address roadway needs throughout the county.

🛣️ ROADS INCLUDED
The project includes portions of:
• Allen Swamp Road
• Mt. Carmel Road
• Crescent Lake Road
• Fisher Road
• Vimville Causeyville Road
• Russell Mt. Gilead Road

💰 FUNDING
Funding for these improvements will come from the Use Tax Modernization Fund.
These funds are restricted to eligible roads on the State Aid and Federal Aid road networks and cannot be used on every county-maintained road.

📋 HOW PROJECTS WERE PRIORITIZED
Within those requirements, the Lauderdale County Road & Bridge Department evaluated eligible roads and prioritized projects based on:
🔹 Roadway condition
🔹 Need
🔹 Traffic
🔹 Available funding
🔹 The ability to make the greatest impact with available resources

🛠️ LOOKING AHEAD
This paving package represents a significant investment in Lauderdale County’s transportation infrastructure and will address more than 17 miles of roadway across all five supervisor districts.
We know many additional roads throughout the county need attention. The Lauderdale County Road & Bridge Department will continue evaluating road conditions, identifying available funding, and developing future paving projects as resources allow.
