🚑❤️ It’s AED Week!

Did you know every Meridian Police patrol vehicle is equipped with an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)? These lifesaving devices allow our officers to provide immediate care during cardiac emergencies, often before paramedics arrive.

The next time you see one of our patrol cars, look for the AED sticker on the back—it's a reminder that our officers are prepared to respond when every second counts.

Early CPR and quick access to an AED can save lives. We’re proud to carry this important equipment and serve our community both in emergencies and beyond.

Training continues for our Academy class! 🚔

Recruits recently spent time learning Tactical Medicine (Tac Med), building skills focused on providing lifesaving care in high-stress situations. They put those skills to the test through realistic scenarios designed to challenge communication, decision-making, teamwork, and scene management under pressure.

Hands-on training like this helps prepare our future officers for the realities of the job and reinforces the importance of staying ready to protect and serve our community.

We are proud to recognize Officers Johnson and Chevallier with the ACCESS Lifesaving Award for their swift and decisive actions during a cardiac arrest call in Meridian in early December 2025.

Upon arrival, the officers quickly recognized the severity of the medical emergency and immediately assisted with life-saving measures prior to EMS arrival, including CPR and early intervention efforts alongside bystanders. Their rapid response and teamwork helped ensure the patient received critical care without delay.

Their actions played a vital role in the patient’s survival and positive recovery outcome, reflecting their strong commitment to preserving life in emergency situations.

Traded in our uniforms for softball jerseys yesterday! 🥎

Our team had a great time participating in the softball tournament hosted by the MPEA - Meridian Police Employee Association. It was a day full of friendly competition and plenty of wind alongside our fellow Treasure Valley agencies.

Thank you to Nampa Police Department, Caldwell Police Department, the Ada County Prosecutor's Office, and Idaho Corrections Probation & Parole for joining us. A special thank you as well to our sponsors Overhead Door Company of Southwestern Idaho, and Scheels, for supporting the event.

And to top it all off… we brought home the championship trophy! 🏆

🚦How we feel when you run a red light!

Officers spent a few hours conducting red light enforcement at Meridian and Overland, where they made several traffic stops resulting in citations for red light violations alone.

Red lights aren’t suggestions. A few extra seconds of waiting could prevent a serious crash. Slow down, stay alert, and stop on red.

This morning, members of our department gathered with fellow law enforcement officers from across the state for the annual Idaho Peace Officer Memorial Ceremony.

Together, we honored the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities and remembered the lasting impact they continue to have on the law enforcement profession.

We are grateful for the opportunity to stand alongside our partners from across Idaho in reflection, remembrance, and support for the families, friends, and agencies of the fallen. Their service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.
